Photovoltaic Schools
Schools are a very good application for Solar electric (PV). As well as receiving the feed-in tariff and using the electric during school times, Schools can also generate an income from the export tariff during the school holidays.
GHE SOlar have recently installed a PV system For Sherborne St John primary school. This also consist of a smart meter that can be accessed by the teachers and children at any moment in time.
Unlike a Domestic installation, the highest demand for electric is in daylight hours and when the PV panels stop working at night the electricity demand is very small. With a School installation in the majority of cases all the electricity produced will be used therefore saving the school from buying in that portion of electricity.
The next generation is the key in controlling climate change, so educating the children of today is important. Using solar generation displays can begin to enforce the necessary values.. We are currently in consultation with local schools and once installed case studies will be added to this section.
