Solar Panel Feed-in tariff review
Written on Thursday, 16th June 2011 by GHE Solar
The government has announced the outcome of the fast track review into the feed-in tariff available for Solar Panels. The stated intention of the review was to make sure that very large scale installations don’t take the entire feed-in tariff funding available for solar panels.
The outcome of the review is that installations in excess of 50kWp will have the tariff paid reduced. The larger the Solar Panel installation the larger the reduction in the tariff and all stand alone Solar Panel installations above 50kWp will receive the lowest level of the Feed-in Tariff (8p kWp). The changes will not be retrospective and will apply to newly completed installations registered after 1st august 2011. Full details are available here

We feel this is great news for the general Solar Panel buying public. It secures the feed in tariff for small and medium sized installations. The decision also shows the governments intentions of never making any changes retrospective. All in all it provides the prospective purchaser of Solar Panels with increased certainty
